Are you interested in volunteering? We value our volunteers as they play an integral part in the success of our centre. Here is a list of volunteering roles at our centre in 2016 – if you have any further questions, please ask!

2016 Volunteer Roles

Current Volunteer Vacancies –

Computer Tutor Volunteer wanted!
Volunteer tutors are crucial to the success of Broadband for Seniors. The tutor’s role is to provide face-to-face training for senior Australians in computers and the Internet. But you don’t need to be a computer specialist. You just need a good understanding of technology and and time and willingness to help others.

We currently are running the program on a Wednesday morning with our fabulous volunteer BFS tutor David but the program is so popular we have a waiting list and need to put on another session!

Network of support
BFS volunteer tutors are not alone. They are part of a network of support through the BFS community of practice, which includes access to:

  • resources via the BFS website including BFS online training
  • resources on the BFS wikispace
  • professional development via webinar in areas such as adult learning principles, social networking, cyber safety and everything to do with technology advice and support via the BFS Google Group.

Please note that you are required to undergo a Police Check to be a volunteer tutor at a Broadband for Seniors Kiosk.

If you’d like to know more about volunteering in a Broadband for Seniors kiosk, please contact Becca Smith, ACC Centre Manager 9499-7227
